BIO

Nick Peterson (Director/Writer/Producer) graduated from the prestigious animation program of The California Institute of the Arts (Calarts).

During the summer of 1998 while at Calarts, Peterson worked on the tiny crew of five as a set builder/animator on the short film “MORE,” which was nominated for a 1998 Academy Award®. Soon after, he acted as writer, producer and director of the stop-motion short film “MuM.” “MuM” received tremendous critical acclaim at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival and went on to screen in over 40 festivals worldwide, garnering a College Emmy Award and three Best Short awards.

In 2006, Peterson directed the feature length Live-Action film Dark Mind starring Christopher Masterson (“Malcolm in the Middle”) and Lyndsy Fonseca (“Kick Ass,” “Nikita”). This dark thriller screened in numerous film festivals across the United States and internationally before its DVD release in the winter of 2007.

Prior to Dark Mind, Peterson worked at Image G VFX studios for five years as a VFX Producer designing and executing complex shots for such visionary directors as Sam Bayer, Olivier Gondry, Gore Verbinski & McG. His work has also been seen in television shows such as “CSI Miami” and “House M.D.”

Peterson currently lives in Los Angeles, California and has recently wrapped DRAINED the surreal live-action/animated short film produced by Jon Heder about the dangers of addiction.
